Research Assistant I

Utilizing novel microscopy methods to investigate drug treatment targets within areas of public health.

I spent the last two years of my undergraduate learning research in the context of Molecular Biophysics, specifically utilizing super-resolution microscopy. The COVID-19 pandemic had stirred me to pivot my career towards topics within public health, and I was delighted to participate in Influenza research. The work focused on investigating possible drug targets for a non-strain specific treatment for the flu, and I found myself fully immersed in investigating the theory behind its lifecycle. From this, I learned the core of what drives my research interests to be teasing apart microscopic questions within public health.

I'm incredibly eager to dive into these topics under Dr. Vivek Kumar as a Research Assistant, where I hope to contribute to his addiction genetics research.
