JAX attracts people from around the globe to join our teams in Maine, Connecticut, California, Japan and China. From rural countryside to bustling cities, each JAX location has a different focus and a unique combination of programs that align to advance our common mission — to discover precise genomic solutions for disease and empower the biomedical research community in our shared quest to improve human health.
No matter where we live and work, we are One JAX.
JAX boasts three locations in Maine. Researchers in Bar Harbor investigate the genetic causes of human disease by using the mouse as a model. Our Ellsworth campus provides the global biomedical research community with JAX® Mice at the highest health status. Maine Cancer Genomics Initiative in Augusta brings cutting-edge cancer care to patients across Maine.
Our Farmington campus is home to The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine. Researchers here focus on human genomics, complementing our long history of mammalian genetics expertise.
Our Sacramento team is dedicated to providing JAX® Mice and extensive in vivo, cancer and stem cell services to the pharmaceutical, life sciences and medical research communities throughout the western United States and Canada.
JAX Japan provides researchers in Japan, Korea and Taiwan with direct access to the highest standard of leading-edge animal research models as well as services, technical support and scientific expertise.
The JAX team in China empowers academic and drug discovery scientists in China by improving access to mouse models that better represent the genetic and biological complexity of the human condition, and by delivering local support and services that further the China research community.
