After graduating from the University of Maine in 2014 I was involved in forestry research. As a crew supervisor we studied the effects of biomass removal on forest stands. I came to JAX in the fall of 2015 as an Animal Care Technician. Within the next couple years Dr. Kaczorowski hired me as her Research Assistant. In this role I am responsible for colony maintenance, behavioral phenotyping, and Immunohistochemistry. Within the next year Dr. Kaczorowski and hope to replicate a study involving the immunization of tau proteins within a 3xTg-AD mouse line. We hope to recreate results that show immunization of tau can ameliorate Amyloid-beta pathology.
