At the end of November 2021, after a decade of leading The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) through impressive growth, dramatic change and remarkable achievements,   Edison Liu, M.D.Conducts research focused on the functional genomics of breast cancer through an exploration of the entire genomic space.Edison Liu, M.D.  will step down as president and CEO.  With Ed at the helm of our institution, JAX has grown exponentially over the past decade through constant innovation, sustainability and resilience through challenges, a focus on impact and a strong culture of community. Ed plans to remain at JAX as a professor where he will continue to lead   The Liu LabResearching the fundamental genomics of breast cancer.the Liu lab  studying the functional genomics of cancer, with a focus on breast cancer and serve as the director of the Laboratory’s   The JAX Cancer CenterThe Jackson Laboratory Cancer Center (JAXCC) is a National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center complemented by institutional education, resource and service initiatives that support cancer research world-wide. The JAXCC comprises approximately 50 members with multidisciplinary expertise who are united in research aimed at understanding and targeting the genomic complexity of cancer.NCI-designated Cancer Center .

As a leader, researcher, oncologist, friend and family member, Ed has made an indelible impact at JAX, in our local communities and within the global biomedical research field.
