Multi-omics approach sheds light on PDK1 kinases role in disease regulation

In a new article in Genome Biology, JAX's Churchill lab performs an integrative multi-omics analysis of 58 genetically diverse Collaborative Cross strains to identify regulators of protein phosphorylation. The analysis highlights multiple targets of the PDK1 kinase, a regulator of mitochondrial function that shows reduced activity in a polygenic model of obesity and Type 2 diabetes.

For additional reading this article discusses the effects of genetic variation on arsenic toxicity and this article explores how genetic variations affect protein levels in mice.
