Vitiligo vit now mitfmi-vit

Vitiligo (vit, now Mitfmi-vit)

Mitfmi-vit homozygotes show a slow progressive loss of photoreceptor cells, cosegregating with the gradual depigmentation. The outer plexiform layer is significantly thinner by 4 months, and the rows of photoreceptor cells are lost at a rate of about one per month beginning at 2 months of age. Retinal detachment is observed in some vitiligo mice.
