Research Assistant II

Working to understand kidney disease progression using genetic mouse models and in vitro assay.

With a background in Clinical Molecular Genetics, my previous work includes working with various types of sequencing assays and technologies for the detection of emerging infectious disease including COVID-19. This work I contributed to helped in creating a covid surveillance program, method validation studies, and metagenomics. Currently, I am working to understand the mechanisms that drive kidney aging as well as determining the mechanisms associated with chronic kidney disease progression. In the lab at the Jackson Laboratory, we use mouse models that develop kidney diseases and test in these chronic kidney disease mice genes that are susceptible or resistant to disease progression.
