Please indicate the strain backgrounds present in the samples you are submitting:

Important note: The strain background you have selected may be problematic for genome scanning, especially if the requested comparison is between similar backgrounds (for example DBA1 & DBA2). A JAX® Services representative will review this request and provide other options if this is the case.

  • If you do not see your background listed, please contact JAX® Services for further discussion of your project needs.
  • If you have more than three strain backgrounds present for your samples, genome scanning service is not recommended as it will not yield acceptable results.

For an explanation of F and N generation numbers, please see our generation definitions documentation on our website.

Please enter the quantity of samples you are providing for each generation in the lines below.

Scanning of F1 samples is unnecessary. The first sample submission should be from the N2 generation.

The quality control scan is an additional cost, and is optional.

A typical project for development of a new congenic strain requires submission of 5-6 generations of 8-16 samples to produce a new strain which is 99% congenic.

DNA sample submission requirements:

Concentration of 100-200 ng/ul in 10mM TrisHCl or ddH2O. Please note that we are unable to accept samples containing EDTA.

Once we have received your purchase order, JAX® Services will ship a JAX® Genotype Sample Collection Kit for you to submit your samples for testing. All samples sent to The Jackson Laboratory for genotyping should be in the provided barcoded plate.

Please only click the submit button once.

Within 5 to 15 minutes after the form is submitted, you will receive an email from that contains your confirmation. If you do not receive this email within this timeframe, please check your spam mail for this confirmation email.
