The Whole Scientist Regional Short Course

This two-day, NIH-funded short course will help emerging scientists in the Atlanta area equip themselves with the professional, interpersonal and communication skills that they'll need to be successful leaders throughout their careers in biomedicine and basic science research.

About

Our signature The Whole Scientist™ Regional Short Course program co-hosted by the Morehouse School of Medicine consists of a series of seminars and workshops led by invited experts to guide trainees in developing the skills needed to advance to the next stage of their careers.

Late-stage PhD students and postdoctoral associates seeking careers as researchers – in academia, industry, biotech, or government – in addition to those with scientific ambitions away from the bench will gain valuable training in areas such as leadership, management, communication, and mentoring. There will be sessions which can be applied to RCR training obligations. Participants also benefit from the development of supportive and collegial peer relationships that extend well beyond the duration of the course.

I-20 West to Atlanta University Center/Lee Street Exit (Exit #55B).
At end of exit ramp (at stoplight), turn right onto Lee Street.
Go one block to the first driveway on the right and turn in to the parking garage (by the Security Gate).

From I-285 SW

I-285SW to I-20 East
I-20 East to Lowery Boulevard/Atlanta University Center/Lee Street Exit (Exit #55A&B).
Go to second red light at Lee Street.
Turn left onto Lee Street and go through the red light to the first driveway on the right and turn into the parking garage (by the Security Gate).

Public Transportation

MSM is accessible by the Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). The closest stop is the West End.
