The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) is partnering with Eastern Maine Community College and Maine Maritime Academy to offer apprenticeships to individuals currently enrolled in applicable technical curriculums in order to give them practical experience during their education.
Those who complete their professional training, including a JAX apprenticeship in facilities services, will have the opportunity to be hired at JAX in a full-time position and earn a family-sustaining wage.
In addition to being paid an hourly wage during apprenticeships and a competitive wage upon graduation, JAX will make payments towards college expenses if they meet performance standards, are offered a position, and work at JAX for at least two years upon graduation. The cost remission program benefit is $14,000 each for EMCC apprentices/hires, and $30,000 each to MMA apprentices/hires.
