Grant applications proposing work that will be performed by Genome Technologies (GT) or with GT’s assistance do not require letters of support unless the methods that will be used are not included in GT’s service description in the JAX Facilities and Other Resources master document (see description below). For methods that are unusual or particularly challenging in the genomics field, or that were recently published, please contact GT to discuss whether a letter of support would be appropriate.
Facilities and Other Resources Documentation:
The Genome Technologies laboratory (GT) houses a variety of cutting-edge genomic technologies and continually expands its genome technology platforms and technical capabilities. Available sequencing technologies include multiple Illumina short-read platforms, Pacific Biosciences and Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) long-read platforms, and Sanger sequencing. GT is fully equipped for the processing of various sample types in preparation for genetic, epigenetic, gene expression-profiling applications and targeted sequencing. GT routinely performs whole-genome and whole-exome sequencing as well as whole-transcriptome RNA sequencing, both for short- and long-read platforms. GT also offers methylation sequencing (whole-genome or reduced representation bisulfite), ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, HiC, and promoter capture HiC preparations. GT also routinely performs Cas9-targeted sequencing, and nanopore adaptive sampling on ONT’s nanopore platforms. GT has deep expertise in performing various assays, from cell/tissue nucleic acid extraction and sequencing library preparation to data processing and analysis. Ancillary equipment available includes liquid handlers for automatic library prep, and sample and library QC; a real-time PCR system; sonicators; size selection systems; fragment analyzers; and spectrophotometers. GT employs Genologics Clarity LIMS for sample tracking and workflow management. GT also facilitates the outsourcing of sequencing projects to maximize our sequencing capacity and cost efficiency.
