Researching anti-aging compounds that delay age-related decline of cardiac function and progression of cardiac pathology.

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide and their incidence increases exponentially with age. In the lab of Dr. Korstanje, I am involved in stage 2 studies within the scope of the Interventions Testing Program, which is a long-standing NIA-funded program for pre-clinical compound screening in a mouse model. The goal is to use my experience in mouse genetics, cardiac pathology, and cardiac metabolomics to research anti-aging compounds that delay age-related decline of cardiac function and progression of cardiac pathology. I obtained my PhD from the University of Geneva, Switzerland (’19).
