Philipp Henrich, Ph.D.

Associate Director, Microscopy Service

Provides access to microscopy services for researchers and students.

Philipp Henrich has been leading the JAX microscopy services to successfully support our faculty researchers and services in their need for basic to advanced microscopy applications. The services’ offerings range from providing training using optical imaging equipment, conduct as-service whole-slide scan operations matching the requestor’s demands on quality, turnaround and data delivery, and, last, provide workflows for complex, customizable tasks, including image enhancement and image analyses using reproducible software routines.

Our team ensures that the microscopy services offer an inviting, smooth and productive environment relying on state-of-the-art equipment, local compute resources, online support offerings, and advanced technical support growing with the changing needs by our user base, and as new technologies emerging in the field. We also work closely together with other services to provide complete bench-to-acquisition experience. Specifically, we work with our Histology services to design custom fluorescence panels (antibody and RNAScope-based) and established an extensive collaboration with our JAX Data Science team to create a web resource, JAX Image Tools, facilitating project-specific imaging routines using modern AI-approaches, made accessible easily to scientists.
