Stephen graduated from the University of Maine with a MS in Ecology and Environmental Sciences. Early work experience in the Jackson Laboratory focused on glaucoma research in the lab of Dr. Simon John, where Stephen managed a large-scale mutagenesis screen searching for novel glaucoma-inducing mutations. In 2021, Stephen transitioned to the Jax Center for Precision Genetics as a Project Manager. Early work focused on new project vetting and correspondence, while eventually shifting into new mouse model design, management, and validation for the Jax Center for Precision Genetics and the Rare Disease Translational Center.
