Applied Genomics MiniCourses for the Undergraduate Classroom

Short, interactive modules that connect core genomics concepts to biomedical and healthcare careers

Make Genomics Relevant in Your Courses

Genomics concepts are essential across today’s biomedical and healthcare fields, but they can be difficult for students to connect to real-world practice.

Genomics in Action brings applied human genomics concepts into existing community college, early undergraduate and advanced high school classes. Through focused, interactive content, students engage with genomics in context and learn how these concepts translate into a variety of roles and career scenarios.

How the MiniCourses Work

The Genomics in Action digital curriculum is designed for flexible use within existing undergraduate courses. Each self-paced MiniCourse is approximately one to two hours, and can be assigned in full or in part depending on instructional needs.

The core lessons combine short instructional videos, engaging interactions and embedded knowledge checks to reinforce key ideas in a structured way. Real-world applications throughout the MiniCourses illustrate how genomics is used in biomedical and healthcare contexts, while an LMS-compatible design supports integration with existing course platforms.
