All cancer arises from genetic variants. Variants in the germline (inherited) and in cancer cells (somatic) impact cancer risk, cancer progression, and response to targeted and non-targeted treatments. Understanding the impact of genetics and genomics on cancer care is a rapidly changing field, especially with the development of therapies targeted to specific variants and other biomarkers. This page highlights select JAX clinical educational resources related to cancer genetics and genomics.
