Detailed Description

This targeted mutant was created and characterized by Deltagen, Inc. View phenotypic data developed by Deltagen.

Development

The construct insert is reported to be "Lac0-SA-IRES-lacZ-Neo555G/Kan." Upon arrival at The Jackson Laboratory, these mice had been backcrossed at least 5 generations to C57BL/6 mice.

Expression Data

Expressed Gene lacZ, beta-galactosidase, E. coli
Site of ExpressionlacZ expression is detected in most organs examined: brain, spinal cord, sciatic nerve, eyes, thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, aorta, heart, lung, liver, pancreas, kidney, urinary bladder, thyroid gland, larynx, pituitary gland, adrenal glands, skeletal muscle, skin, testis, prostate gland, ovary, uterus and cervix. Strong expression is detected in the CNS, spleen, heart, lung and larynx.

Control Suggestions

  • Wild-type from the colony
  • 000664 C57BL/6J

Genetics

Grk5tm1Dgen

Allele Symbol: Grk5tm1Dgen

Allele Name targeted mutation 1, Deltagen
Allele Type Targeted (Reporter, Null/Knockout)
Allele Synonym(s)
Gene Symbol and Name Grk5, G protein-coupled receptor kinase 5
Gene Synonym(s)
Expressed GenelacZ, beta-galactosidase, E. coli
Site of ExpressionlacZ expression is detected in most organs examined: brain, spinal cord, sciatic nerve, eyes, thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, aorta, heart, lung, liver, pancreas, kidney, urinary bladder, thyroid gland, larynx, pituitary gland, adrenal glands, skeletal muscle, skin, testis, prostate gland, ovary, uterus and cervix. Strong expression is detected in the CNS, spleen, heart, lung and larynx.
Strain of Origin 129P2/OlaHsd
Chromosome 19
Molecular Note A bacterial lacZ gene was inserted into the gene such that the endogenous gene promoter drives expression of beta-galactosidase. RT-PCR analysis detects gene transcript in all tissues tested. Beta-galactosidase expression from this allele is detectable in most tissues examined. Strongest staining was observed in the central nervous system, spleen, heart, lung and larynx. Staining was observed in different tissue and cell types, including smooth, cardiac and skeletal muscle, neurons, epithelium, cartilage, lymphatic tissue, adipose tissue and blood vessels.
