MvhCre-mOrange (Ddx4-Cre) knock-in/knock-out mice express Cre recombinase from the mouse Ddx4 (DEAD box helicase 4; also called Mvh) promoter. An mOrange fluorescent reporter in the construct does not appear to be functional. Expression of Ddx4 is blocked. Cre recombinase activity is found in the gonads as early as embryonic day 1.5. Whole embryo recombination has been observed. When crossed with Rb1 floxed mice (e.g. Stock No. <a href="https://www.jax.org/strain/008186">008186</a>), RB1 expression was found to be absent in the germ cells of newborn mice (P0).
