R26DM.lsl-MYC mice express Cre recombinase-inducible human MYC from the endogenous Gt(ROSA)26Sor locus. When these R26DM.lsl-MYC mice are crossed with a Cre recombinase strain, the floxed-STOP cassette is deleted and the Gt(ROSA)26Sor promoter drives expression of human MYC (cDNA) in the cre-expressing cells. The donating investigator reports expression levels of human MYC at approximately physiological levels that are insufficient to induce apoptosis in most adult tissues. Human MYC expression levels were assayed in lung, pancreas, liver by PCR, in situ hybridization, and/or immunohistochemistry, and in MEFs by qPCR and immunoblot. Homozygotes are viable and fertile. During backcrossing, the Y chromosome may not have been fixed to the FVB/N genetic background. When crossed to B6.129S4-Krastm4Tyj/J mice (Stock No. <a href="https://www.jax.org/strain/008179"">008179</a>) the resulting double mutant mice are the Cre-inducible KM model of lung adenocarcinoma.

R26DM.lsl-MYC mice have a floxed-STOP cassette preventing expression of a downstream human MYC (cDNA) sequence. When R26DM.lsl-MYC mice are crossed with a Cre recombinase strain, the floxed-STOP cassette is deleted and the Gt(ROSA)26Sor promoter drives expression of human MYC in the cre-expressing cells. These mice are useful in studies related to tumorigenesis.
