Description

The human SYN1 promoter drives expression of EGFP fused to mouse Rpl10a (NBL10) in this transgenic strain used to profile translational activity in neurons.

Detailed description

The human SYN1 promoter drives expression of EGFP fused to mouse Rpl10a (ribosomal protein L10A; also called NBL10) in this transgenic strain used to profile translational activity in neurons. The mice have no overt phenotype. The viability/fertility of homozygotes is unknown (May, 2018).

Development

The human 2xSYN1 promoter, derived from plasmid pTYF-2XSYN-tTA (Addgene 19982), drives expression of EGFP and mouse Rpl10a (NBL10) in this transgenic strain. The vector was introduced to FVB embryos. A single copy of the transgene integrated in this founder line (site unknown). Mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J for more than ten generations by the donating laboratory.
