CCR7 Tg transgenic mice have a human CD2 antigen (CD2) promoter directing expression of a chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 7 (Ccr7) cDNA. CCR7 is a G protein-coupled receptor involved in the migration of memory T cells to from peripheral tissues into draining lymph nodes. Homozygous CCR7 Tg mice are viable and fertile.
CD4+ and CD8+ T cells from the lymph nodes of CCR7 Tg transgenic mice have slightly elevated expression of CCR7. In a model of allergic airway inflammation, CCR7+ effector T cells enter inflamed tissue and continue to migrate into the lymph system, whereas CCR7- T cells accumulate in the inflamed lung.
The CCR7 Tg transgene was designed with a human CD2 antigen (CD2) promoter directing expression of a chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 7 (Ccr7) cDNA. The transgene was microinjected into fertilized C57BL/6 oocytes, and mice from founder line 1 were bred to C57BL/6NTac mice to establish a colony of CCR7 Tg mice. Mice were maintained by breeding to C57BL/6 mice. Upon arrival at The Jackson Laboratory, sperm was cryopreserved. To establish our live colony, an aliquot of frozen sperm was used to fertilize C57BL/6J oocytes (Stock No. 000664).

The Jackson Laboratory has rigorous genetic quality control and mutant gene genotyping programs to ensure the genetic background of JAX® Mice strains as well as the genotypes of strains with identified molecular mutations. JAX® Mice strains are only made available to researchers after meeting our standards. However, the phenotype of each strain may not be fully characterized and/or captured in the strain data sheets. Therefore, we cannot guarantee a strain's phenotype will meet all expectations. To ensure that JAX® Mice will meet the needs of individual research projects or when requesting a strain that is new to your research, we suggest ordering and performing tests on a small number of mice to determine suitability for your particular project. We do not guarantee breeding performance and therefore suggest that investigators order more than one breeding pair to avoid delays in their research.
