Description

This congenic line was generated by SNP and MIT marker assisted transfer to NOD of a B6 derived chromosome 11 segment delineated by the marker D11Mit167. The following set of stocks are useful in further characterizing the previously published Idd32 locus (Diabetes 60:1354, 2011) defined by an AI4 T cell transfer protocol where the NOD variant paradoxically contributes to diabetes resistance:

Detailed description

These congenic mice exhibit spontaneous diabetes similar to the phenotype observed in NOD wildtype mice. When treated with AI4 T-cells these mice exhibit accelerated diabetes when compared to NOD controls. This congenic line was generated by SNP and MIT marker assisted transfer to NOD of a B6 derived chromosome 11 segment delineated by the marker D11Mit167.

Development

(B6.NOD-H2^g7xNOD) F2 mice were backcrossed to NOD/ShiLtDvs mice for 5 generations prior to inbreeding to fix the B6 congenic interval defined by the D11Mit167 markerto homozygosity. Current generation is N6F7 (May 2014).
