Mice homozygous for the hotfoot 21 Jackson mutation have an abnormal, wobbly gait that is evident by 6 to 8 weeks of age.
The hotfoot 21 Jackson mutation arose spontaneously in the C57BL/6J inbred strain at The Jackson Laboratory in early 2013, was maintained coisogenic on this background by sibling inbreeding, and sperm was cryopreserved from homozygous males.
