This strain carries a single loxP site in intron 4 of the Bim (Bcl2l11, BCL2-like 11 (apoptosis facilitator)) gene and serves as a control strain for mutant strains Bim3SA (Stock No. 011025), BimT112 (Stock No. 011026), and BimDeltaEL (Stock No. 011027).

A loxP-flanked neomycin resistance cassette was introduced to intron 4 and later excised using a C57BL/6 background protamine (Prm) PC3-Cre recombinase. This strain was backcrossed to C57BL/6 for ten generations by the donating laboratory.
|Allele Name||targeted mutation 1, Roger J Davis|
|Allele Type||Targeted (No functional change)|
|Gene Symbol and Name||Bcl2l11, BCL2-like 11 (apoptosis facilitator)|
|Strain of Origin||129S6/SvEvTac|
|Molecular Note||A floxed neo cassette was inserted within intron 4 by homologous recombination. The neo cassette was then excised with cre recombines leaving a single loxP site in intron 4. This allele is a wild-type used as control. Expression of normal amounts of wild-type proteins was confirmed by immunoblot.|
