These mice express a tau (MAPT)-cyan fluorescent protein (CFP) under the transcriptional control of the mouse pro-melanin-concentrating hormone (Pmch) promoter. Neurons expressing PMCH can be easily identified in the brain. Hemizygotes are viable and fertile and do not display any gross physical or behavioral abnormalities.

Neurons expressing PMCH can be easily identified in the brain. Hemizygotes are viable and fertile and do not display any gross physical or behavioral abnormalities.
A transgenic BAC vector carrying Tau (MAPT)-Cyan fluorescent protein downstream of the ATG sequence of the mouse pro-melanin-concentrating hormone (Pmch) gene was introduced to B6CBAF1 embryos. The line was backcrossed more than ten times to C57BL/6 by the donating laboratory.

To ensure that JAX® Mice will meet the needs of individual research projects or when requesting a strain that is new to your research, we suggest ordering and performing tests on a small number of mice to determine suitability for your particular project. We do not guarantee breeding performance and therefore suggest that investigators order more than one breeding pair to avoid delays in their research.
