Development

Using a marker assisted series of backcrosses, this congenic interval, defined by D8Mit124-D8Mit95, was introgressed into C57BL/6J using the donor strain C57BL/6J-Chr 8^A/J/NaJ (004386). The donor strain is a consomic carrying the A/J Chromosome 8 on a C57BL/6J background. The consomic was backcrossed in the laboratory of Dr. Beverly Paigen. This strain was donated to The Jackson Laboratory Repository in 2007 and was cryopreserved using sperm. Mice recovered from cryopreservation will be heterozyous for the congenic interval.
