Development

Using a marker assisted series of backcrosses, this congenic interval, defined by D6Mit287-D6Mit201, was introgressed into C57BL/6J using the donor strain C57BL/6J-Chr 6^A/J/NaJ (004384)for a minimum of N3 generations. The donor strain is a consomic carrying the A/J Chromosome 6 on a C57BL/6J background. The consomic was backcrossed for N14 generations in the laboratory of Dr. Beverly Paigen. This strain was donated to The Jackson Laboratory Repository in 2006 and was cryopreserved using sperm. Mice recovered from cryopreservation will be heterozyous for the congenic interval.
