The Prdx6^tm1Pgn allele was generated by disrupting exons 1 and 2 with a neomycin cassette via homologous recombination in R1 ES cells (derived from 129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv F1-Kitl⁺). A chimeric founder was crossed to 129X1/SvJ and the line subsequently maintained by sibling mating. Dr. Beverly Paigen generated this strain at The Jackson Laboratory; the strain was cryopreserved in 2007.
