The mucopolysaccharidosis VII 3 Jackson mutation was identified in the progeny of an ENU mutagenized male in the neuroscience mutagenesis program at The Jackson Laboratory and given the preliminary designation nmf91. This mutation was kept on the C57BL/6J background and in 2005 embryos were cryopreserved from in vitro fertilization of C57BL/6J oocytes with sperm from homozygous males at generation N3F1+N3.
|Allele Name||mucopolysaccharidosis VII 3 Jackson|
|Allele Type||Chemically induced (ENU)|
|Gene Symbol and Name||Gusb, glucuronidase, beta|
|Strain of Origin||C57BL/6J|
|Molecular Note||Non-complementation with the mps mutation suggests that these two mutations are alleles of the same gene.|
