Development

This recombinant congenic strain was generated in the laboratory of Dr. Linda Siracusa from an initial cross of a C57BL/6J-Tyr^c-2J/Tyr^c-2J female by a C3H/HeJ male mouse followed by a backcross to C57BL/6J-Tyr^c-2J/Tyr^c-2J and 19+ generations of brother-sister inbreeding. The mice arrived at The Jackson Laboratory in 2000 at generation N2F20.
