These mice express a transgene containing the human β₂m gene in spleen cells.

Development

The Tg(B2M)55Hpl allele was generated in (CBA x C57BL/Lia)F2 fertilized eggs (Krimpenfort et al., 1987). In 1996 this allele was received at The Jackson Laboratory on a B10.D2 congenic background at N10F10. The Tg(B2M)55Hpl allele was then backcrossed onto NOD/Lt by David Serreze until N10 then intercrossed and made homozygous.
