Mice homozygous for the Alox5aptm1Jdm targeted mutation are viable and fertile. Homozygous mutant mice are resistant to zymosan stimulated inflammation. DBA/1LacJ mice carrying the null mutation for Alox5ap gene show a reduction in the severity of collagen-induced arthritis.
