These mice carry the spontaneous Hm (hammertoe) mutation and are characterized by interdigital webbing and an abnormal pattern of cell death in the interdigital regions.Read More +
The mouse mutant hammertoe (Hm) provides an abnormal system in which the pattern of cell death is specifically altered in the interdigital regions of the limb. Mutant mice have interdigital webbing involving digits II-V with dermal ridges formed on the ventral side of the webbing, specifically on its lateral margins between the neighboring digits and on the medial margin of the webbing extending toward the palmar pad.
