Development

The In(2)40Rk inversion was induced in an agouti mouse and this inversion is in coupling with agouti. Embryos were generated for cryopreservation by crossing a repulsion heterozygote, In(2)40Rk A/+ a with C57BL/6J, which is homozygous for nonagouti. Thus, all agouti mice recovered are expected to be heterozygous for the inversion in repulsion with nonagouti: In(2)40Rk A/+ a. Prior to cryopreservation this was sometimes maintained by breeding homozygotes, so homozygotes are viable and have bred.
