A M. m. praetextus male caught in an Israeli port was bred with a M.m. musculus female from laboratory stock carrying Adamts20bt, m, Tyrp1b, and a. The offspring were inbred and in 1971 mice at F42 were transferred from Wallace to T Roderick (Rk), at The Jackson Laboratory, who transferred the strain to MT Davisson in 1983. In 1992 embryos were generated for cryopreservation by breeding F42+71 siblings.
