Detailed description

This B10 congenic strain carries the H2^j haplotype from the WB strain (Stock No. 000692). It also carries the B10 H2-T18^b allele.

Development

This is a “Congenic Resistant” strain of mice developed by George D. Snell with Marianna Cherry in their studies of histocompatibility. [Snell, G.D. 1978. In Origins of Inbred Mice (H.C. Morse III, ed.). Academic Press, New York.]

The strain was backcrossed 10 generations to C57BL/10Sn before being maintained by sib matings. It was cryopreserved in 1994 at generation N10F71.
