Neurobiological basis of addiction traits

My research aims to understand the neurobiological basis of addiction vulnerability. To address this question, I integrate animal models of voluntary drug intake that recapitulate the key diagnostic criteria for addiction, with complex trait genetics. Through the modelling of drug-seeking and -taking behaviors under diverse behavioral contingencies, my research identifies the neurochemical and neuroanatomical substrates of addiction pathology and supports target identification for behavioral and pharmacological interventions.
