Genetics and Genomics of Human diseases, Type 2 Diabetes
After obtaining my PhD in evolutionary population genetics of wild rice species, I pursued my postdoc experience to work on vascular cambium development on Arabidopsis thaliana/poplar tree at UPSC (Sweden) and genetic basis of sex ratio in fruit flies at Emory Univeristy. Then I worked on pharmaceutical testing and molecular diagnosis of human disease in pharmaceutical/biomedical industry for 3 years. Since then, I am gradually interested in mechanisms of human diseases, for example, Type 2 Diabetes. I have had the opportunity to get involved in the research on molecular genetics/genomics of T2D in Stitzel’s Lab at JAX-GM since Nov 2018.
