I’m interested in understanding the small-molecule drivers of microbial interaction networks, particularly through the application of new sequencing technologies. My work in the Weinstock lab has begun by studying the role of the microbiome in diabetes through the NIH Common Fund Human Microbiome Consortium. Through the analysis of a wide variety of host and microbe-omic data sets we hope to correlate microbial changes to specific effects on human health so that we may follow with studies on causation.
