Development and characterization of mouse models to support disease research and drug discovery.

Animal models that recapitulate the genetic, molecular, and cellular characteristics of human disease are essential to disease research and drug discovery. Dr. Laure Case contributes to the research program of Dr. Cat Lutz through the development and phenotypic characterization of mouse models of Friedreich’s Ataxia, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and Myotonic Dystrophy. In addition, Laure’s role as Study Director for In Vivo Pharmacology, combined with a background in immunology and autoimmunity, has positioned her to aid in the continued characterization of established autoimmune mouse models for Lupus and Type 1 Diabetes, and is working to establish additional autoimmune disease models as In Vivo services offered to the scientific community.
