JAX supports Connecticut's future scientists

Continuing The Jackson Laboratory’s (JAX) commitment to making a difference in STEM education and developing future scientists, JAX was the Life Sciences Major sponsor for the 2019 Connecticut Science and Engineering Fair (CSEF). The fair took place on March 10-16 at Quinnipiac University and nine JAX employees participated by serving as judges to evaluate student exhibits. Our Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine Scientific Director, Charles Lee, represented JAX at the awards ceremony and presented the Life Sciences Category awards.

JAX Education also had a table at the fair showcasing JAX’S STEM educational offerings to parents, teachers and students; including the JAX Scholarship program, Summer Student Program, JAX Open House, Teaching the Genome Generation and more!

A special thanks to all of the following JAX employees who volunteered at this year’s fair: Britt Callahan, Emaly Piecuch, Miguel Ilzarbe, Jennifer Idol, Bill Flynn, Marina Yurieva, Samantha Bosse, Sarah Wojiski, and Min Tang-Schomer.
