In today's economic climate, research funding and vivarium space often are becoming increasingly limited. As a result, investigators are challenged with managing their mouse colonies more efficiently and economically. In this seminar, you will learn about the following topics:
Technical Information Scientist
The Jackson Laboratory
Dr. Janine Low-Marchelli earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where she studied angiogenesis in breast cancer metastasis with Dr. Jing Yang. Janine continued as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Catriona Jamieson, also at UCSD, to examine extracellular matrix contribution in leukemic stem cell quiescence. Janine has broad experience working with immunodeficient mouse models for cancer with both basic and translational research goals and a keen interest in implementing active learning strategies in science education.
