This in-person hands-on workshop is designed to provide participants with tangible and marketable skills in mouse biomethods. This workshop will cover mouse handling, restraint, oral gavage, injections (IP, subcutaneous and tail vein), blood collection (submandibular, tail tip and cardiac puncture), mouse identification (ear notch, ear tag, and tattoo), perfusion and methods of primary & secondary euthanasia.
Participants are invited to also take part in the virtual Workshop on Colony Management from November 10-12. See the event webpage for more information.
This course may be used for continuing education units for AALAS and ASR recertification.

The Jackson Laboratory is unable to accommodate lodging at its Highseas Conference Center. Participants are expected to arrange their own lodging for the duration of the workshop. Please visit the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce webpage for a listing of nearby hotels and motels currently accepting guests.
Meals will be provided at the Laboratory's campus dining hall throughout the event.
Due to current institutional travel policies, this event is limited to participants from the Northeast regional area. We strongly encourage that all participants travel to the Laboratory by car. Please refer to the State of Maine Covid-19 travel advisory for more information on travel mandates, quarantine exemptions, and best safety practices.
