The Jackson Laboratory is pleased to present a new Workshop on 3D Genome Mapping Technology. This intensive, laboratory-based training workshop will be offered in the new 183,000 sq. ft. Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine research facility in Farmington, Connecticut. The goal of the workshop is to train a small group of young scientists (pre-doctoral, post-doctoral and new investigators) in the use of ChIA-PET.
ChIA-PET was developed to study long-range chromatin interactions mediated by specific protein factors, and has been used to infer topological higher-order structures in chromosomes. Thus, the technology can elucidate mechanisms of transcriptional regulation in the context of 3D genome conformation. The workshop will target 16 trainees and include 10 faculty members, both from JAX and the external scientific community. The workshop will specifically focus on experimental techniques from sample preparation to library construction and high throughput sequencing. Hands on training on computational analysis of ChIA-PET sequencing data, including data processing, visualization and data mining will be provided. Highlights of ChIA-PET applications in studies of cancer cells, stem cells and immune cells will be discussed.
