Comprehensive Workshop on Mouse Biomethods

This is a NEW one-of-a-kind workshop that will provide tangible and marketable skills in mouse biomethods. This course will begin with a didactic overview of common strain characteristics, the mouse life cycle including breeding and reproduction, behavior, ethics, disease and safety. The majority of this workshop will be hands-on and will cover mouse anatomy, injections (IP, subcutaneous, foot pad, tail vein and retro-orbital), oral gavage, neonatal oral dosing, vaginal plug check, pregnant female palpation, throat swab, blood collection (submandibular, retro orbital, tail tip, saphenous and cardiac puncture), mouse identification (tattoo, ear notch and ear tag) as well as primary and secondary euthanasia (CO₂, cervical dislocation, decapitation, thoracic puncture and perfusion).
