Current pre- and postdoctoral programs in the biomedical sciences effectively train rising scientists within a narrow scope of laboratory-based skills. Unfortunately, this training often doesn't foster other necessary skills that have become increasingly vital for successful careers in science, in and outside of academia.
The Whole Scientist combines classroom learning with post-course applied practicums to help participants develop capability and confidence in:

Lodging accommodations will be at Highseas Conference Center, a spacious mansion built in 1912, overlooking the entrance to Frenchman Bay and adjacent to beautiful Acadia National Park. The registration fee includes lodging (minimum double occupancy). Transportation will be provided from the conference center to the course venue for the duration of the course. Highseas cannot accommodate families. Please refer to the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce for off-campus lodging alternatives.
