JAX Covid-19 RT-PCR Test FAQ For Patients

 

Information regarding the test itself and the result reports.

What are possible test results, and what do they mean?

  1. Positive SARS-CoV-2
  2. SARS-CoV-2 Not Detected
  3. SARS-CoV-2 Inconclusive - additional testing should be performed if clinically indicated, please contact your medical provider
  4. Failed - Sample did not produce a valid result. Specimen should be recollected and submitted for testing. Please contact your provider.
  5. Canceled – Order canceled by provider. If you have any questions, please call your medical provider.

What if my personal information on the report is wrong?

Please reach out to your provider to alert them of the error. They will be able to work with us to create a corrected report that will be sent back to your provider.

What are the assay characteristics?

The JAX COVID-19 RT-PCR assay is a qualitative test that returns Positive SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV-2 Not Detected, or SARS-CoV-2 inconclusive as a result.
