MCGI - For Clinicians

The Maine Cancer Genomics Initiative (MCGI) is a statewide collaboration that brings cancer genomic testing, education and drug access infrastructure to Maine.

Today, every oncology practice in the state participates in MCGI. Initially driven by the need for greater access to genomic tumor testing in Maine, MCGI has become a model for community precision oncology, or personalized cancer care, in a rural setting.

In the first phase of MCGI, over 1,600 people living with cancer - from Caribou to Kittery - received genomic testing. Over the next five years, MCGI will focus on helping patients navigate the steps of entering genome-informed clinical trials and of accessing targeted therapies as part of their medical care.

MCGI oncologists are welcome to take advantage of the information and resources located below.
