Quentin Gouil, Ph.D.
Senior Postdoctoral ResearcherWalter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research
Quentin Gouil is an epigeneticist combining molecular and computational work to elucidate the mechanisms of epigenetic regulation in plants and animals. Working as a senior postdoctoral researcher in the Ritchie lab at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medicale Research in Melbourne, Australia, he uses nanopore sequencing to clarify the role of DNA methylation in genomic imprinting and X chromosome inactivation in mice; and to determine the genetic and epigenetic contributors to a musculodystrophy in humans. Dr Gouil obtained his PhD from the University of Cambridge working on epigenetic inheritance in tomato, and continues his plant research with collaborators at La Trobe University.
