David FitzPatrick is a clinical geneticist and research group leader at the MRC Human Genetics Unit at The University of Edinburgh. He studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh and trained in pediatrics Edinburgh, Bristol, Glasgow. He trained in clinical genetics in Glasgow as a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellow and in John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore on a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Clinical Research Fellowship. His clinical interests are in pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders and syndrome identification and his research interests are in the identification of genetic causes of serious developmental disorders.
